At Norra AM, we continuously invest in the expertise and capabilities required to deliver reliable industrial production. We have recently completed advanced HP Multi Jet Fusion maintenance training at HP’s R&D facility in Barcelona.
For a company operating further north than many of the major additive manufacturing hubs in Europe, rapid response and machine availability are critical. By investing in machine maintenance training and developing in-house capabilities, we can reduce dependency on external service support and ensure minimal disruption to customer production.
Building Internal Maintenance Expertise
The training provided a unique opportunity to work directly with HP specialists and gain hands-on experience with the complete HP Multi Jet Fusion platform. During the programme, the team disassembled and reassembled major parts of the system, developing a deep understanding of machine architecture, diagnostics and maintenance procedures.
This investment in additive manufacturing training strengthens our ability to maintain our own equipment and respond quickly when service actions are required. Faster troubleshooting and maintenance ultimately contribute to improved operational reliability and reduced downtime for customer projects.
Learning from HP’s R&D Environment
Conducted at HP’s Barcelona R&D facility, the training also offered valuable insight into how HP approaches product development, engineering and serviceability. Seeing the systems from the inside out provided a deeper appreciation for the design decisions behind one of the industry’s leading industrial 3D printing platforms.
The experience reinforced the importance of continuous learning and technical competence within additive manufacturing. It was particularly valuable to see how maintenance, development and production considerations are integrated throughout the lifecycle of the technology.
Supporting Production Excellence
Beyond maintenance capabilities, the training has expanded our overall understanding of the HP Multi Jet Fusion process. This additional AM expertise allows us to further optimise machine settings, process parameters and production workflows to achieve consistent quality and performance.
For Norra AM, this represents another step in our commitment to staying at the forefront of industrial additive manufacturing. By combining advanced production capabilities with deeper technical knowledge, we continue to strengthen our ability to deliver reliable, high-quality plastic manufacturing solutions for our customers.
